Additional Services & Features

Laundry Service

We have a purpose-built laundry area at Arden Lodge which is managed by our Laundry Assistant and all clothes are laundered on site. We ask residents to label their clothing to ensure that they do not get lost in the laundering process. If any items of clothes require dry cleaning this can be arranged via the home at an additional cost. Bed linen and towels are provided by us, although residents that wish to can bring in their own items must label them with initials.

Masseuse Service

We provide a fortnightly therapeutic massage session for all residents to participate in - if they would like to. Our masseuse Tina is a qualified Therapeutic Massage Therapist. Tina uses herbal therapies to maintain healthy skin and tissue viability, whilst providing a relaxing session for our residents.

 Motivational Classes

We provide a weekly motivational class for all residents to participate in - if they wish to do so. The class is run by David and takes place on either a Monday or Wednesday. Sessions consist of gentle exercises, co-ordination skills, general knowledge and musical quizzes. At the end of each year, the home competes in an annual Care Home quiz, competing against local Care Homes.

Church Services

We have a member of the local Catholic Church who visits our residents fortnightly on a Wednesday. During this time the residents that follow the Catholic faith receive Holy Communion. Religious services are performed every month in the large communal lounge for those that wish to participate. Special Services are performed at Easter and Christmas.
We also work in close partnership with the local churches. This enables our residents to participate and enjoy regular special occasions that they may have enjoyed when living alone. At the nearby church hall at St Peters church, our residents attend afternoon tea, party nights and summer fetes, alongside members of the community.
The home can provide access to any other religious services that each resident requires.

Social Activities

We have a full time activity co-ordinator who works from Monday to Friday. He provides a varied activity programme to cater to the needs of our residents.
Anthony also provides day trips out of the building and short visits to the local shopping area. Anthony registers each resident on the Ring and Ride programme and we take full advantage of this on our many outings. Relatives are more than welcome to attend any of our planned trips. Our trips have included, visits to the zoo, nature centre, Western Super Mare, pub lunches, Botanical Garden and every Christmas we attend Solihull Core Theatre to see the annual Pantomime.

For those that do wish to join in with the group activities. Anthony offers one to one sessions with all residents.

Hairdresser

We have a hairdresser, Julia, who visits the home every Wednesday. Julia is a trained hairdresser and has her own salon within Arden Lodge. Julia can cut and style both male and female hair.

Julia provides services such as cut and blow dry’s, restyling, colouring and perming. Her prices range from £7.00 - £30.00 and any service provided will be at the resident’s own cost. Residents do not have to make an appointment. If they wish to have their hair done, they simple ask for their name to be added to the list.

Staff members will provide assistance in between visits, to wash, blow dry and even style hair.

Chiropodists

We have a chiropodist that visits the home every 6 – 8 weeks, and charges £12.00 for their services, which will be at the resident’s own cost. Residents do not have to make an appointment and the manager will ensure that all residents have the choice to see the Chiropodist when they visit the home.
